Rational Acoustics’ Smaart Application Practicums focus on the use of the Smaart measurement platform in “real world” professional audio engineer work. They examine the implementation of the information presented in the Smaart Basics or Operator Fundamentals classes – the various measurement capabilities, control parameters, data reading and measurement rig configuration skills – in using Smaart as tool for professional sound system engineering tasks.
Multi-Channel Measurement Practicum: This practicum is a more advanced practicum focusing on the complexities of multi-channel measurement configurations and is offered as an optional 3rd or 4th day at selected Smaart training sessions throughout the year. This practicum is designed to be very hands-on and requires all attendees to have computers outfitted with both Smaart v.8 and Dante Virtual Sound Card.
All Smaart Application Practicum sessions provide:
An overview of the Practicum’s example application(s) including both the application goals and standard processes for employing Smaart in that task.
A review of the Smaart measurement rig being used and an in-depth process for evaluating its functionality (i.e. – setting up and checking your Smaart rig).
Hands-on demonstrations and/or practice sessions of the Smaart application with an in-depth discussion of real-world data interpretation.
Prerequisites: The Smaart Application Practicums assume prior attendance at a Smaart Operator Fundamentals course. Students who wish to attend a Practicum course but do not meet this pre-requisite must obtain Instructor/session Host approval prior to registration.
